Y-cam Introduces Instant Push Notifications to HomeMonitor App
UK (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- Y-cam, the leading provider of affordable and easy to use wireless cameras, has announced the latest updates to its iOS and Android app for HomeMonitor, its complete all-in-one cloud based camera service.
With the latest update, HomeMonitor users now have additional functionality at the touch of a button with free, instant on-the-go push notifications. In addition to the existing email alerts, users can now activate motion triggered messages that are sent directly to their iPhone, iPad or Android handsets using a convenient pop-up icon.
The notification is triggered when a HomeMonitor camera detects motion, and the instant pop-up directs users to their account dashboard where they can choose to view the triggered event live, with video and audio, straight from their device, or access their saved archive and catch up after it has happened. There is also no need to worry about missing any action because the notifications will still be received even if the app is closed or if the device is in sleep mode.

Research conducted by Warwick Business School found that the average worker in the UK sends and receives over 200 emails per week. Along with the notification updates, Y-cam has also improved the thumbnail function on its HomeMonitor iOS app, which allows users to easily identify each of their cameras’ locations, and see the latest activity direct from the dashboard. This enables even faster and easier access to what they want to watch.
The HomeMonitor app, including push notifications, requires an internet connection to operate and is only available for handsets operating on iOS 5 and above or Android 2.3 and above.
