ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Launched at last year's Winter NAMM Show, the Yamaha CP73 and CP88 modernized the professional stage piano. With their three premium Voices, extensive hands-on controls, and a sleek new design, they brought inspiration to working keyboardists who might need to craft many Voice and effects combinations on the fly. Now, Yamaha continues their commitment to continuously enhance CP73 and CP88 with CP OS v1.3.
In response to musicians' feedback, CP OS v1.3 comprises three new Voices. First, a Yamaha CFIII acoustic grand piano (introduced in the CP300 stage piano) known for being able to cut through dense arrangements with a bright, powerful sound. The addition of the CFIII brings the total number of CP73 and CP88 acoustic pianos to eight including the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial 290 concert grand pianos along with the character-rich Yamaha U1 upright piano.
CP OS v1.3 adds two new electric pianos: 73Rd Studio and 74Rd. These correspond to classic electro-mechanical tine pianos: a smooth, warm studio model from 1973 and a brighter, more aggressive stage model from 1974. Tine electric pianos are ubiquitous in rock, pop, and jazz and having authentic recreations of them are a must-have staple for any keyboard player.
"We always want musicians to get the most out of their instrument," said Nate Tschetter, manager, Synthesizer Marketing, Yamaha Corporation of America. "These updates were driven by direct customer feedback and we hope we were able to help people make even more inspired music as a result."
