Solich Piano and Music Company has been named piano channel Midwest Dealer of the Year for the second consecutive year by Yamaha Corporation of America, the world’s largest musical instrument manufacturer.
The award was announced to the Ohio-based dealership at the 2020 NAMM music products convention held recently in Anaheim, California. Yamaha recognized Solich Piano and Music Company with the award not only for sales and marketing success, but also for the high level of attention its people show to patrons and their dedication to Yamaha values in encouraging an enthusiasm for music.
“Solich Piano’s sales are every bit as impressive as they were when they won this same award last year, though this award isn’t just about numbers,” said Travis Mitchell, director, piano channel sales, Yamaha Corporation of America. “Their approach emphasizes the importance of nurturing a passion for playing, which will inspire others to explore music in turn.”
Solich Piano and Music Company and its predecessor, The Music Place, have been in the piano business for a quarter-century under the ownership of Thomas Solich. By 2010 it was the fastest-growing piano dealership in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, earning recognition from MMR and Music Trades magazines for success in the industry. Solich Piano serves families, piano teachers, churches, schools, colleges, hospitals, nursing homes, and others. In addition to having physical locations in Cleveland, Columbus and Youngstown, Solich Piano also works with an array of organizations such as Pittsburgh Opera, Cleveland State University, Otterbein University and Ohio University. Owner Thomas Solich, a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music, is an avid pianist and music educator.
