"By discussing root causes of America’s racial economic gap, we can ultimately identify bridges to spark change and discover new ways to invest in Black prosperity" said Dr. Ebbie Parsons III.
ATLANTA (PRWEB) February 23, 2022
Today, Yardstick Management, America’s leading Black-owned management consulting firm, announced details of its next DEI in Action Series virtual event, “[Fund]amentally Black: Promoting Economic Freedom In the Black Community.” Registration is now open for the immersive online event, which will take place on Friday, February 25 at 12:00pm ET, to honor and celebrate Black History Month.
The 60-minute conversation with leading Black changemakers unpacks America’s long existing racial wealth disparities that have inhibited Black business owners from building generational wealth and further promoting the imbalance of financial power within the community. Participants will hear first-hand from Black innovators across the U.S. opportunities to identify bridges that spark change, and how to invest in Black prosperity. Confirmed speakers include nationally recognized:
- Briana Franklin, Founder, President & CEO of The Prosp(a)rity Project
- Jennifer Lynne Williams, Chief Development Officer at USA Basketball
- Aaron Mitchell, Director of Human Resources at Netflix Animation Studio
- Sherrie Deans, Acting Chief Operating Officer of The National Basketball Players Association
- Brandon Fleming, Founder & CEO of The Harvard Diversity Project
This month’s event marks the one-year anniversary of Yardstick’s “DEI In Action Series,” which first launched in February 2021. The series was initiated by Yardstick Management to highlight leaders of diverse backgrounds that are elevating DEI awareness in their own unique ways and across industries. These events take place on the last Friday of every celebrated month from 12-1pm EST. In addition to Black History Month, past events included, Women’s History Month, Pride Month and Hispanic Heritage Month.
“This year marks a major milestone for Yardstick’s very own catalyst for change, which is our DEI In Action Series,” said Dr. Ebbie Parsons III. “Since officially launching the Yardstick Institute late last year, we feel energized and inspired to help push culture forward by amplifying Black voices and innovators now more than ever. By discussing root causes of America’s racial economic gap, we can ultimately identify bridges to spark change and discover new ways to invest in Black prosperity.”
Furthering its commitment towards transformational change, the firm announced its groundbreaking Yardstick Management Institute in November 2021. By creating a vulnerable space for leaders and senior executives to have critical conversations, topics such as self-awareness, leading with authenticity, and intercultural communication provide an opportunity for Institute attendees to become more conscious of themselves, colleagues, and the world. The next institute will take place this summer and registration is now open.
Registration details can be found here for the upcoming “[Fund]amentally Black: Promoting Economic Freedom In the Black Community” event on Friday, February 25 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
