Yinyang Spa has five branches in the UAE: four in Dubai (Dubai Mall Chinatown, Al Ferdous 4 in Al Safa, JBR and The Village Mall in Jumeirah) and one at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi. Its therapists, from China and Thailand, combine Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques such as acupressure and meridian work with sports and deep tissue massage.

Which massage suits which activity
- Running: Sports Massage for the legs, or a Foot Massage for feet that absorb the impact of every stride.
- Cycling: Thai Massage, which pairs strong pressure with assisted stretching for the hips, hamstrings and lower back.
- Gym and strength classes: Sports Massage, which uses firm, deep tissue pressure on tight shoulders, back and legs.
- Yoga: Meridian Shiatsu, a needle-free acupressure treatment rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, or a Back Massage covering the upper back, neck and shoulders.
- Rest days: the best time for a deeper Sports or Thai session, or Lymphatic Drainage (Detox) and Aromatherapy for something gentler.
Five recovery tips from Yinyang Spa's therapists
- Match the pressure to the day. Save strong, deep pressure for rest days, and choose a lighter session in the day or two before a big event.
- Tell your therapist what you have been doing. Sharing your activity and any tight spots lets them adjust the pressure and focus on the right areas.
- Expect some soreness after deep work. Mild muscle soreness after a deep-pressure massage is common and usually eases within 24 to 72 hours. Rest, drink plenty of water and keep the next day light.
- Plan recovery across the month. Booking a massage at the end of each week, or at the halfway point, turns the 30 days into four manageable blocks.
- Put medical advice first. Sudden, sharp or worsening pain, swelling or numbness calls for a doctor before any massage.
All of these treatments are available daily at every Yinyang Spa branch. Female therapists work at all five branches, and male therapists at Dubai Mall Chinatown, Al Ferdous 4 and The Galleria, where they treat male guests.
