Top strategists have called Congress Majority PAC's unusual ads "among the most persuasive ads of the Midterm election."
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Congress Majority PAC's TV spots ran in digital media statewide in Maine, Ohio, Texas, Iowa, Kansas, Alaska and Michigan. (Verification upon request.) Here's what's newsworthy: while nearly all the billions spent on political advertising used a tried-and-true formula -- advocate for a candidate or attack local opponents -- Congress Majority PAC's ads stood alone in aiming at Republicans as a group, and at Trump.
No Democratic candidate was mentioned by name in the novel ads, and every ad ended simply, "Vote Democrat," so the same spots could be run in several States and help all Democrats on the ballot get elected.
One of Congress Majority PAC's ads used a rapid-fire montage of news clips depicting Trump in his own words – and ended with Lindsey Graham saying emphatically, "We are the Party of Donald Trump." Like all the PAC's spots, it concluded, Vote Democrat.
Another ad empathized with the many Democrats who no longer view their Party favorably, gently asking in successive titles while sad music plays, "No longer like the Democrats? Not voting? This President needs to be slowed down. Vote Democrat. Even if it hurts."
The PAC's persuasive climate change spot showed news footage of Trump calling global warming a hoax, and then at Mar-a-Lago, at a meeting with oil executives at which he promised to take America back to fossil fuels. The ad points out he also asked them for $1 billion, and Big Oil then donated over $70 million. The ad concludes, "After taking office, Republicans gutted Democrats' climate bill. Wrong call for our wallets. Green energy is now cheaper than oil, and the last four years have been the hottest ever recorded. Vote Democrat."
The concept works: Congress Majority PAC made a $120,000 media buy in rural Florida for two 2025 special House elections, and their ads helped double the Democrats' share of the vote, to 40% compared to 20% in the Presidential election only 5 months earlier. It's clear that some Republicans in these deep-red Districts voted Democrat. (Verification upon request.)
ABOUT THE ADS' CREATOR
Patrick Reynolds is the President of Congress Majority PAC and the creative force behind its ads. A grandson of tobacco titan R.J. Reynolds, Patrick studied cinema at USC and UCLA, then acted in films and TV, and later famously broke ranks with his family's legacy to become a fierce anti-tobacco advocate, earning the President's Lifetime Achievement Award from Obama in 2015. Over the years Reynolds realized the issues he fought for ultimately depended on who controlled Congress, leading him to launch Congress Majority PAC.
He is a seasoned television guest, having provided commentary on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, CNBC, The Today Show, and Good Morning America.

Before you decide on coverage, please view the 3-minute reel of the PAC's unconventional TV spots. The second video down the page shows Patrick Reynolds presenting the same spots to a small group of supporters in Los Angeles on September 15, and briefly discussing them. For better or worse, Reynolds' ads attacking Republicans as a group may lead to a new kind of political advertising in 2028. "I envision a time when we'll be less divided," says Reynolds. "I know it will happen. But for now, in the Trump era, attack ads like ours are what's needed."

PROPOSED NEWS STORIES
- When you contribute to candidates, exactly where does your money go?
Reynolds: "Almost all the billions spent have gone to promote individual candidates or to attack their local opponents. Only our ads rise above the local dueling-candidates and compare the Parties on the big issues. In 30 seconds, we attack Republicans for mismanaging the economy, for their climate change policy, their lack of AI policy, the cost of living, the corruption of the Trump administration and more."
- Connecting the dots: How climate change is connected to US politics
Congress Majority PAC's ad on climate change shows Trump publicly calling climate change a hoax, and raising over $70 million from Big Oil after promising them he'd take America back to fossil fuels. The ad concludes, "Green energy is now cheaper than oil, and the last 4 years have been the hottest ever recorded. Vote Democrat."
- 52% of Democrats don't view their party favorably
Empathizing with Democrats who are unhappy with their Party may be more effective at driving turnout than traditional cheerleading. A recent CNN poll says many feel their Party has gone too far left. It gently asks in successive titles while sad music plays, "No longer like the Democrats? Not voting? This President needs to be slowed down. Vote Democrat. Even if it hurts." Reynolds says, "I hope this ad motivated non-voters to vote, instead of throwing their mail-in ballots in the trash."
- Trump says, No government regulation of AI
Trump's refusal to regulate AI results from his conservative ideology, which resists regulating even at the risk of 1 billion deaths. The PAC's AI spot highlights this. Reynolds comments, "Our PAC's ad The Economy says, 'Bush's deregulation of the banks helped cause the 2008 mortgage crisis. Republicans' don't-regulate ideology has led to disastrous government in the past...We need more pragmatism and less ideology from our leaders. Democrats deliver case by case solutions to complex problems.' In short, the ad I wrote concludes Democrats are just better stewards of our economy."

Transcript of Climate Change ad voiceover:
In 2022 Democrats passed the strongest climate bill ever. It created jobs and incentivized clean energy. Not one Republican voted for it. In '24 at Mara Lago, Trump met with Big Oil and promised he'd steer America back to fossil fuels. They gave millions, and after taking office, Republicans gutted Democrats' climate bill. Wrong call for our wallets. Green energy is now cheaper than oil, and the last three years were the hottest ever recorded. Democrats will put us back on a path to low cost clean energy, and protect our planet. Vote Democrat.
