Young Jewish Boy Travels Across Europe by Foot to Escape Persecution in a New Young Adult Novel
FOXROCK, Ireland (PRWEB) January 18, 2019 -- In the early 20th century, one boy goes on a daring journey across Europe to escape discrimination and torment. Author Harold Huberman, inspired by the life of his uncle, tells the story of 12-year-old Max trekking from Poland to England in the biographical novel, “Max Maxin” (published by AuthorHouse UK).
Around the period of 1907, the Eastern European Jews were being persecuted by the Russians and the Poles. As a young boy, Max Maxin was told by his father that he would have to leave his country, his village and his family. So Max set off to walk to London from Poland and find his Uncle Chem; a journey that took Max almost two years to complete.
Huberman expresses that although “Max Maxin” is based on a true story, he had to use his imagination to fill in the gaps of what may have occurred to Max on the adventure. Huberman says he believes readers will be in awe of Max due to the fact “it took him almost two years to complete the journey.”
