COSTA MESA, Calif., May 24, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Boasting an incredible arts scene, world-class shopping and proximity to California's best beaches, Costa Mesa also continues to be recognized as the culinary capital of Orange County, California. Costa Mesa offers Orange County's only Michelin-starred restaurants – three of them, to be exact. A slate of new dining destinations are popping up around the city, adding to its already robust varieties of cuisine.
"We're excited to see a great collection of new and interesting restaurants opening in Costa Mesa," said Anne-Marie Schiefer, Vice President of Marketing for Travel Costa Mesa. "The new dining continues to raise the bar for our city in terms of being a top dining destination."
Some of Costa Mesa's new dining experiences in 2023 include:
Blossoms & Brass
Costa Mesa's exclusive culinary collective inside South Coast Plaza, Collage Culinary Experience is a global dining collective that offers the best international and local cuisine. Blossoms & Brass debuted inside Collage recently with a curated menu of artisan cocktails and decadent bites with old-world European influence, yet whimsically featuring Japanese ingredients and flavor profiles. An exciting example is the beet salad with bok choy and their rissoto, a saffron rice dish with Spanish sausage that also includes shichimi-togarashi, nori and sesame oil.
K Soul Food, a new Korean seafood restaurant, is also now open at Collage. Boasting an impressive array of the freshest seafood available, K Soul Food offers a diverse menu of sushi, succulent crab legs, savory shrimp - and Korean soul food like cold noodles and bibimbap.
Other new spots inside Collage include Cha Redefine and PhoHolic.
The Plot
Restaurateurs Devin and Jessica Waite are bringing exciting plant-forward eating to OC with the opening of a second location of The Plot at The CAMP this summer. The Plot's menu features creative and sustainable plant-based dishes with a zero-waste ethos business model. They say their mission is to make plant-based food irresistible, and to give back more than they take.
HoléSmokes
HoléSmokes is owned by Ian Bason, a second-generation restaurateur who grew up working for his family's Mexican restaurant Holé Molé, and Chef Dan Ramon, a Texas native and BBQ enthusiast. Designed with Bason's experience and Ramon's desire to find the best Texas barbecue, HoléSmokes will offer smoked ribs, chicken and beef brisket smoked in house daily using pecan and oak wood imported from Texas and Oklahoma. Adhering to a strict brisket recipe and boasting made-from-scratch sauces, sides and spice rubs, HoléSmokes will bring the Lone Star State's barbecue traditions to Costa Mesa this summer.
Milligram Coffee at Paseo 17
Milligram Coffee + Kitchen is the newest addition to Paseo 17, a Spanish courtyard-style retail, dining and gathering plaza. Serving breakfast, lunch and happy hour, Milligram's large wooden deck blends into Paseo 17's relaxing courtyard and will be home to a range of events from vinyl Sundays on the first Sunday of each month, to wine tastings highlighting wines from a variety of countries. Milligram Coffee + Kitchen owner, Ed Moffatt, saw the need for a casual location offering food and coffee, and serving as a relaxing community hub as well.
