Zapproved LLC, developer of the leading litigation response platform specifically for in-house legal teams, today announced that the company has achieved significant growth milestones in 2018 that extended its leading market share among corporate legal teams in the Fortune 1000.

“We continue to see a strong momentum of corporate legal departments taking more control of the ediscovery process. Zapproved welcomed more than 50 new customers last year ranging from Fortune 100 enterprises and federal and public agencies to leading nonprofits,” said Monica Enand, CEO and Co-founder of Zapproved. “We’re extremely proud that our Z-Discovery platform is trusted by more in-house teams than any other for managing litigation response, and we expect continued robust adoption in 2019 as the importance of this critical function is elevated within their organizations.”

Following are key areas of progress in 2018:

Leading Market Share in Corporate Legal
Zapproved saw strong growth in its market of in-house legal teams for its software platform that handles preservation through processing and review. The company saw its market share continue to soar with 50 new in-house legal teams joining as customers, comprised primarily of corporations but also with public agencies, nonprofits, and educational institutions. Zapproved closed 2018 with 84 customers within the Fortune 500.

Growth of Product Adoption
The company’s SaaS offerings saw usage spike this past year across the product line. Zapproved’s Legal Hold Pro preservation software, the industry’s category leader, currently is overseeing preservation of more than 1.5 million active custodians. Digital Discovery Pro had a surge in adoption that saw data ingested in the system nearly triple as legal teams continued to move these functions in-house.

Team Expansion and Executive Leadership
Zapproved’s business growth necessitated scaling up its workforce in 2018. The overall headcount grew by approximately 25 percent, all in its Portland headquarters. Furthermore, the executive team welcomed high-caliber talent throughout 2018, including Aaron Laliberte, VP of Product, Susy Dunn, Chief People Officer, Tom Pickett, CFO, and David Smith, CTO/CISO.

Leadership in the Legal Community
Zapproved continues to make progress towards its goal of elevating ediscovery practice through community development, education, and thought leadership. The seventh annual PREX Conference, the leading educational ediscovery event for in-house legal teams, hosted a record number of attendees and featured keynotes such as The Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson, the Hon. Paul Grewal, Facebook’s Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Litigation. The company’s Corporate Ediscovery Hero Awards series celebrated the influencers and achievers of in-house ediscovery, hosting famed historian Doris Kearns Goodwin and noted journalist Bob Woodward as featured speakers.

Zapproved continued to build on its track record of recognition in 2018 with the following notable citations:
