SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- After thoughtful consideration and conversations with community members, we have decided to change our public-facing name from Zen Hospice Project to Zen Caregiving Project. This change will help us to expand our impact by providing more clarity around our offerings.
We believe our new name holds all of our activities and is inclusive of everyone we serve. The name Zen Caregiving Project will best serve the organization into the future as we expand the reach and impact of our Mindful Caregiving Education, Volunteer Caregiving, and Community Partnership programs.

This news comes in the wake of many recent changes including the closure of the Guest House, the residential hospice facility owned and run by Zen Hospice Project since 1990, in 2018. This change heralds a greater emphasis on caregivers who support those living with chronic and terminal illnesses. Much of the Project's work is to encourage caregivers to learn emotional skills early in their caregiving journey to support well-being and provide higher quality care to persons living at any stage of illness.
Zen Caregiving Project is enhancing end-of-life care by emphasizing emotional skills training to caregivers who support those living with chronic and terminal illnesses.
With the evolution of a new public-facing name comes a new website that makes it easier for the caregiving community to access all that Zen Caregiving Project offers. These services include the Volunteer Caregiving Program, Mindful Caregiving Education courses and opportunities to explore loss and dying through our Open Death Conversations. Zen Caregiving Project also offers customized courses for partners and interested parties.
