Dallas (PRWEB) May 28, 2014 -- Zimbra, a global leader in unified collaboration software, announced today the availability of Zimbra Desktop 7.2.5, a free and open source email client application that provides users online and offline access to all of their email accounts in one place.
Zimbra Desktop supports today’s flexible work environments by providing a rich and consistent user experience offline. With Zimbra Desktop, users can work offline in Zimbra Collaboration email, voice, calendar, contacts, files and more from their desktop and then reconnect to synchronize their work. The free and open source email client works with any email account – integrating Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, business email, etc. into a single user interface along with Zimbra.
“The latest release of Zimbra Desktop reaffirms our commitment to open source,” said Rob Howard, chief technology officer at Zimbra. “We have aggressive plans to bring continuous innovation to the inbox by delivering an outstanding user experience, anytime, anywhere and on any device. Leveraging our open source community will help us ensure that we deliver the best possible Zimbra Desktop experience.”
Zimbra Desktop 7.2.5 updates Zimbra Desktop for use with Zimbra’s upcoming summer release of Zimbra Collaboration 8.5. It also provides an upgrade path for organizations that are currently using Zimbra Desktop 2.0.x. Zimbra plans to release a brand new user experience for Zimbra Desktop later in the fall.
