Zootility Tools Launches Beer & Friends™: Bottle Openers Cut With Two Lasers
Portland, Maine (PRWEB) April 21, 2015 -- Lasers merged with bears, deer, and drinking today as Zootility Tools unveiled Beer & Friends™, their new line of laser-cut bottle openers, launching today on Kickstarter. Zootility Tools, makers of wallet-sized multi-tools, is best known for PocketMonkey, a previous Kickstarter success with 2,000 backers.
Not satisfied with the expansive but tedious range of existing bottle openers? Beer & Friends™ invites us to imagine: What if bottle openers could make us happy? What if they could make other people happy? What if they were made with a bunch of futuristic lasers?
“Every time I looked at the dozens of minimal bottle opener designs on Kickstarter, I wanted to vomit”, said Nate Barr, Zootility Tools founder and two-time Kickstarter success story. “These don’t make me laugh. They don’t impress anybody. Most of them aren’t even made with a single laser!”
Cut and etched from stainless steel using, indeed, two lasers, Beer & Friends™ openers come in three form factors with a variety of designs. Drawing largely on animal puns and wordplay, the designs range from Beer, a bear-deer hybrid, to Jackass, a rabbit with a distinct enthusiasm for donkeys. There is a credit-card sized opener for the wallet, coming in at a slim 1mm thick. The openers are also available in a fridge magnet version, for people with refrigerators, and a coaster version, for people residing around flat hydrophilic surfaces. They start at $10 each and will be manufactured in Portland, Maine.
Beer & Friends™ openers have launched as a Kickstarter project and are shipping in May. Pledge rewards range from specially licensed openers from beloved internet cartoonists, to hand-delivery of merchandise, to unique-but-pointless “dry-aged” openers that will sit in cardboard boxes for an entire year before shipping. More designs and styles are forthcoming.
