AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 8, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Zymmo, a new app bringing chefs and foodies together, aims to unite Americans before Election Day by delivering free, brown- bagged meals. Voters in Austin and Washington, D.C. will be able to indulge in a unique culinary experience, while waiting to vote. In this time of divisiveness, it is the hope of the app's Founder and CEO, Vidhya Subramanian, to unify each community— through food.
Vidhya commented on the importance of the events, "Election Day brings Americans of vast socioeconomic backgrounds together. It is a gathering of diversity that should be celebrated. Zymmo wants to give back to the amazing people of this country who are doing their civic duty to vote—despite civil unrest, despite the pandemic. Zymmo was designed to help food lovers experience the meaningful meals they crave, while supporting freelance chefs during a difficult time in the hospitality industry. Pre-election, outdoor events scheduled in Austin and Washington, D.C. will allow locals to meet Zymmo chefs and enjoy fine fare, while waiting to vote for the most unforgettable election to date.
On October 27th and October 29th, Zymmo will hand out free lunches nearby the Austin Public Library Downtown Voting Station beginning at noon. Famed local chef, Chase Ginter will prepare his signature dishes—carnitas (pork) tacos and vegan mushroom tacos—and discuss his craft. On the same dates, DC Chef Ana Garcia will be on-hand at the Capital One Sports Arena engaging with locals while serving her gluten free/vegetarian empanadas and pork empanadas. Voters at each location will receive a bagged lunch, hand sanitizer and listing of ingredients used in each meal and information about Zymmo. CDC guidelines will be strictly enforced.
The events will highlight these local artisans and their craft, while feeding the souls of each city with a unique and memorable experience.
