14-year-old Dedicates Childhood to Changing the World, One Poem at a Time
(PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- For most teens, value tends to be placed on things like going to the mall, playing with friends, seeing the latest film, etc. Rayan Abdul-Baki is not most teens.
This 14-year-old author has raised money for philanthropy- leading a bake sale for a local children’s organization that raised more than $440, has been recognized by his teachers for several excellency awards, and has published a spiritual poetry book, “Words from the Sky” at his young age.
“My book is aimed at all audiences, but specifically to whom are in pain, conflict, sadness or misery,” Abdul-Baki says. “These are problems occurring endlessly, and my book can fix it, pointing readers to my lofty dream of a heavenly world taking place one day.”
“Words from the Sky” is an inspirational collection of poetry that seeks to nourish readers’ souls and ease the pressures of daily life.
Abdul-Baki’s goal is that his new book will awaken a social consciousness in readers in terms of such prominent social issues as animal abuse, environmental abuse and general conflict among people.
“My book doesn’t demand perfection, but the best virtues our mother earth can cause,” Abdul-Baki says. “We should attempt and maintain a world free of sins and sadness.”
