17 Year Old Business Entrepreneur Achieves Goal To Unite A Community For One Goal--To Feed 1,000 Families
Front Royal, Virginia (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- We are announcing the distribution of Thanksgiving dinners to people in need within our community.
Less than two months ago local teenager, Tiana Ramos of Front Royal Virginia set out to rally the support of her community and achieve her dream of feeding 1,000 families full Thanksgiving dinners. With the help of Tiana’s mom Natalie Ramos, the dynamic duo actively contacted other people and businesses in the community who wanted to bring what is now being called “Day of Unity” to fruition. The community’s response to their passionate crusade was undeniable.
Each family will receive:
a choice of turkey or ham, Mashed potatoes, green beans, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, dinner rolls, cake mix and Tiana’s famous Naughty Girl Donuts.
Jeremy Cook, Founder of the non-profit food pantry called Loaves and Fishes is focused on feeding people in the community who are struggling financially and need assistance. He expressed his gratitude to Tiana and said “The Day of Unity is the coming together of a community to help facilitate the needs of the people living within the community. This effort being put forth not only helps provide food for those in need but also shows that there are people that sympathize with others current situation. It allows for those whom it helps to find a glimmer of hope in what is a difficult time in their lives.”
Tiana was able to acquire both financial and in kind donations from:
City National Bank, The Apple House, Airserve, Target, Eastern Elevators
Beth Waller and Weichert Realty, Lang Appraisals, Moms in Motion, George R. Ruhl and Company, Schnecks Foods, Target, I Hop Front Royal, Walmart.
Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, other local businesses and hundreds of her Facebook friends.
Walmart provided 260 turkeys, allowed for Naughty Girls to purchase food at the wholesale pricing, and provided a truck to disperse food.
The Facebook community has gathered over $3,000
In store donations of $2,000
The young entrepreneur and high school student felt compelled to combine her spirit for charity and her ability to create a crowd around a cause that was near and dear to the young confectioners heart, nourishing people, with love and delicious savories.
Tiana was the highlight and selected sponsor for Guy Fieri of the Food Network at the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show in Washington DC. Within a couple months after opening her doors, Tiana received a windfall of publicity for both criticism and support for her “Naughty Girl” Moniker. Her flagship location located in the conservative town of Front Royal Virginia Tiana was under fire almost immediately by those making assumptions about the companies thoughtful branding. It did not take long for magnitudes of support to follow and growing interest from literary agencies, production companies and more entrepreneurs wanting to join the bandwagon of her business. Tiana has currently signed for the creation of her first book and is now in a development deal with the prestigious WAG TV known for some of America’s favorite shows and signed with Folio Literary Management for production of a possible book. In addition, Tiana negotiated a deal which will allow her to become a selected vendor at Whole Foods Supermarkets. Tiana has a commitment to future leadership and has created programs inside her business for the teens she employs that will later support them in their own business ventures and places a considerable investment in community by supporting many local charities , events and projects driven to help others.
