17th Tour de Palm Springs Stimulates Local Real Estate

The 17th Annual event will attract thousands of cyclists and spectators.
Since the first ride in 1999, the Tour de Palm Springs has raised more than one million dollars for Coachella Valley charities and become one of the most anticipated events of the season. Innovator Tim Esser originally thought he would hold a biking event that would allow local cyclists to ride five, 15, 25 and 50 mile routes. 400 cyclists rode in that first event and the rest is history. This year the race will start in downtown Palm Springs on North Palm Canyon and there will be five different route lengths for participants along with a 1, 2 or 3 mile walk as well.
Schmett observed that, “This is such a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather with your family, get some great exercise and raise money for your favorite charity here in the Valley. All of the routes, both riding and walking wind through some of the most elite and beautiful real estate in the area, including Old Las Palmas and the Movie Colony. Bike rentals are available and detailed route and registration information is available online. Expect to see Vendor Expos, including booths from some of the charities that will be benefited. It is estimated that more than 100 local charities will receive proceeds from this popular event.
