18th Annual Ultrapure Water Micro To Offer Two Session Tracks
PORTLAND, Oregon (PRWEB) October 06, 2015 -- Registration is open for Ultrapure Water Micro’s 18th annual conference, this year featuring an expanded program to include both on high-purity water used in semiconductor manufacture and microelectronics water and wastewater management issues. The conference is on Oct. 27-28 in Portland, OR, at the Red Lion Hotel on Jantzen Beach.
The conference will kick off Tuesday, Oct. 27, with an opening keynote address by Ben Eynon, senior director of engineering development at Samsung Austin Semiconductor. Mr. Eynon’s presentation will examine UPW improvement needs through lithography. The conference will then break into two tracks. Track 1 will feature 4 sessions: UPW Technology Needs, UPW Process Innovations (Treatment Technology Improvement), Metrology, and Metrology/Cost. Track 2 will also feature 4 sessions: Microelectronics Water Management/Wastewater Treatment, Water Management Issues, Wastewater Management Solutions, and Water Conservation.
UPW Micro will also feature a Round Table networking session comprised of an attendees choice of three 20-minute discussions. Taking place Tuesday morning, this session will feature more than 15 tables hosted by experts in microelectronics water and wastewater. Among the topics to be included are: “High-Purity Materials”, Bob McIntosh of Enviro-Energy Solutions; “Particles as a Problem: Minimizing Occurrence, Innovative Solutions, and Workarounds”, Chelsea Howard, Intel Corp.; and “Zero-Liquid Discharge”, Ralph Williams, CH2M.
Day 2 of the conference will feature two keynote addresses. Mark Thirsk, managing partner with Linx Consulting will speak on semiconductor industry trends and opportunities. Afterward, Emilio Tenuta, vice president of corporate sustainability at Ecolab/Nalco will speak on the topic “Semiconductor Industry Business Growth in an Era of Water Scarcity”. The opening session will then be followed by Track 1 and Track 2 technical presentations.
Track 1 will be moderated by Slava Libman, PhD, director of Advanced Water Analysis at Air Liquide-Balazs NanoAnalysis; Bernie Zerfas facilities engineer at GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ Fishkill plant; and Dan Wilcox, principal engineer of Samsung Austin Semiconductor. Alan Knapp, director of global business development at Evoqua Water Technologies; and Allen Boyce, project manager with BW Design Group, will moderate Track 2.
