1910 Legacy Enterprises Names Darren Utecht as Director of Safety Français
Darren Utecht was recently named as Director of Safety for 1910 Legacy Enterprises and its subsidiaries White Electrical Construction Company and Axis Energy.
ATLANTA, Aug. 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- 1910 Legacy Enterprises, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Utecht as the new Director of Safety for the company and its subsidiaries. He is a senior-level Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional with 39 years of diverse experience. Utecht is a member of the National Safety Council (NSC), American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), and a former member of the Construction Industry Safety Initiative (CISI). He holds an undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University.
He began his career by serving in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. Upon retiring from military service, Utecht joined Balfour Beatty Infrastructure and Heery International, Inc., where he successfully worked for 19 years. He started as a Project Safety Manager, and he was quickly promoted to Corporate Safety Director. He ultimately advanced to Vice President of Environmental, Health & Safety (a senior-level position he held for 13 years).
Utecht's successful track record for safety is best illustrated by his team receiving prestigious safety awards from respected industry organizations. In the past three years, the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) recognized his former team with a 2019 Platinum Safety Award. They also received the 2019 Excellence in Safety Award from Engineering-News-Record (ENR). In addition, they were recognized with consecutive Construction Safety Excellence Awards by the Carolina Associated General Contractors (CAGC) of America.
Over the years, Utecht gained experience with many types of buildings (airports, hospitals, prisons, student housing, schools, courthouses, stadiums), as well as highways, roads and bridges, and water/wastewater structures and plants. Additionally, he has experience in rail traction power manufacturing, and rail maintenance and construction.
As Director of Safety, Utecht's duties will include ensuring a safe workplace for every employee, developing programs in accordance with long term and annual plans, and enhancing the company's culture of professional conduct and service quality.
