The work was produced by photographers from 31 countries, with Germany being represented by 30 practitioners of the art. In terms of country rankings, this puts Germany into second place behind the USA (55 photographers), followed by the UK (25) and Australia (13).

Following preselection from a total of 8,629 submissions, the 516 best works were selected by a jury consisting of editor-in-chief Michael Weinzettl, Suzee Barrabee (art buyer with Goodby Silverstein & Partners), Damon Collins (founding member of Joint London), Rafael Gil (art director at Africa in São Paulo), Christophe Gilbert (photographer), Shintaro Shiratori (president of the Japan Advertising Photographers’ Association – APA), and Anne Telford (Communication Arts).
