2013 Baldrige Quality Award Honors Hospitals Whose Parent Organizations Are HealthLine Systems’ Clients
San Diego, California (PRWEB) December 03, 2013 -- Baylor Plano received the Baldrige Award based on its consistent performance for quality healthcare measures and high patient satisfaction scores. It also retained more than 90 percent of its first-year employees, and of all employees for the past three years. Baylor Plano was praised as a model institution for Baylor’s Lead design and STEEEP (safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered) care program.
Sutter Davis, part of Sacramento-based Sutter Health, was recognized for its high performance scores in quality outcomes, particularly for heart attack, congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
The 2013 Baldrige Award recipients were selected from a field of 22 applicants that were evaluated rigorously by an independent board of examiners in seven areas defined by the Baldrige Criteria: leadership; strategic planning; customer focus; knowledge management; workforce focus; operations focus; and results.
In a 2011 report, Truven Health Analytics found that healthcare organizations that have won or have been in the final review process for a Baldrige Award were six times more likely to be among its annual “100 Top Hospitals,” and outperformed other hospitals in all but one metric the company uses to determine its list.
