2013 Lauritzen Gardens Antique & Garden Show Caps a Decade of Treasures
Omaha, Nebraska (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- The Lauritzen Gardens Antique & Garden Show celebrated its tenth anniversary, September 26-29 with a spectacular celebration of a decade of treasures at the garden. Approximately 5,000 people from across the nation came to Omaha to partake in the weekend long event. Twenty-eight national and international antique dealers with all genres of antiques and collectibles of exceptional quality and extraordinary style provided guests with incredible shopping opportunites.
Commissioned artist Harrison Howard’s visual elements created a whimsical garden fantasy to greet guests. The event commenced on Thursday, September 26th with an elegant champagne reception followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the Preview Party.
Keynote speaker, Carolyne Roehm, addressed the sold-out Friday luncheon, encouraging guests to emulate the world’s best designer—Mother Nature. Roehm has been recognized for more than two decades as one of the country’s trendsetters in fashion, elegance, and tastemaking. She visited with guests and signed copies of her latest book, Flowers, following the luncheon.
The fun, whit and design talent of lifestyle expert Eddie Ross was on display for Friday evening’s Cocktails and Collectibles event. Ross prepared an eclectic tablescape and offered guests a fresh perspective on how to incorporate antiques and other design elements into their everyday lives. He was recently named the East Coast Producer/Editor for Better Homes and Gardens.
Saturday, September 28 featured a brunch and lecture by sought after design talent, Kathryn Ireland, one of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Decorators.” Guests chuckled and enjoyed her humor while Ireland discussed her wide spectrum of work focusing on creating spaces that are inviting, comfortable and stylish. Ireland signed copies of her book, Timeless Interiors, following her address.
Danielle Rollins, a truly natural born entertainer, addressed the Sunday brunch audience sharing tips on gracious living and stylish entertaining to make life’s occasions memorable. The ultimate hostess signed copies of her book, Soirée, for guests following the lecture.
The 2013 Lauritzen Gardens Antique & Garden Show was spearheaded under the leadership of honorary chairmen Cindy Bay and Mary Seina and general chairmen Kyle Robino and Jan Vrana. Honorary Chairman Mary Seina said of the event, “Ten years ago, this was but a dream-a vision to bring an antique show filled with splendor and world-renowned speakers to Omaha. Standing here, surrounded by such beauty and wonderful individuals who support the garden, the dream has come true.
