Boston Based Company Secures Seed Round Funding

Wellframe, a Boston-based company that combines mobile technology and artificial intelligence to amplify caring clinical relationships by engaging patients in personalized care plans, today announced that the company has secured $1.5M in seed funding from leading entrepreneurs and investors. These include, among others, athenahealth CEO, Jonathan Bush, Founder and Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Tim Draper, President of the British Medical Association, Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran, Former Global Managing Director at Accenture, Russ Nash, Venture Partner at Fidelity Biosciences, Carl Byers and Founder and Managing Partner, Leerink Capital Partners, James Nahirny. Wellframe was also a member company of Rock Health's fourth class.

Additionally, Dogu Celebi, MD, MPH, has joined the Wellframe team as Head of Product and Market Strategy. Dr. Celebi has a long track record working with innovative healthcare companies, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Medical Informatics at Audax Health.

In February, Wellframe announced that the company had rolled out its platform at South Shore Hospital. Clinicians at the hospital are using the platform to extend rehabilitation services to cardiology patients in between hospital visits. In addition to several ongoing clinical trials, Wellframe expects to make a number of customer announcements among health plans and providers in the coming months.

Wellframe delivers a mobile platform for care management to healthcare stakeholders looking to amplify their human resources to better engage more patients. The platform includes a mobile application for end-users, a cloud-hosted dashboard for care managers, a secure architecture that renders personalized clinical protocols as daily to-do lists and an artificial intelligence engine.
