EKU Online Bachelor's in Psychology Program Adds Six Degree Concentrations
Richmond, KY (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- Eastern Kentucky University will add six degree concentrations as part of its 100 percent online Bachelor of Science in Psychology program for fall 2014.
The concentrations are designed to introduce students to highly marketable sub-specialties within the field of psychology and include:
• Substance Abuse
• Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Forensic Psychology
• Child and Family Psychology
• Workplace Psychology
• Brain and Cognitive Science
EKU is one of only a handful of universities to offer such concentrations in an online format, providing increased opportunities to non-traditional students, veterans and working adults.
Dr. John Wade, dean of EKU’s College of Arts and Sciences, said, “We are excited to be able to offer unique opportunities that help our students to reach their full potential and best position them for future success.”
EKU Online psychology students will take the same courses and earn the same degree as on-campus psychology students. EKU Online Program Coordinator and Professor of Psychology, Dr. Robert Brubaker, looks forward to connecting with a larger, more diverse group of students through the new online concentrations.
“Our department is always looking for ways to enhance the online learning experience for our students,” said Brubaker. “By offering these concentrations, we feel our students will be even more prepared to enter graduate programs and advance their careers.”
EKU has given students the opportunity to earn fully accredited online degrees since 2006. EKU Online students have many benefits designed to help them succeed, including the option to study anytime, from anywhere; six enrollment dates each year; the ability to progress at an accelerated pace, with courses that start every 8 weeks; and a personal adviser who creates a graduation plan that allows them to meet both their individual academic goals and their professional obligations.
