Jobs postings that read "looking for drivers who know how to work!" turn potential drivers away. The psychology of that statement is reminiscent of dictators.

Well-written job listing copy goes a long way. This Drivers Market requires a little selling. Try thinking like a sales professional. Would a driver apply to the above job listing? Probably not.

The CDL Driver job market is already saturated with these types of job listings. Companies need to set themselves apart by describing the job in detail; post the pay, benefits and home time; and most important, be honest.

**The Truck Driver perspective:**

Truck drivers are overwhelmed with job listings. They're tired of seeing the same old minimalist job listings. Trucking companies need to differentiate themselves if they expect to win the battle for quality drivers.

Drivers think: "I have a good job with plenty of hours (or miles). I’m willing to switch jobs, but, the switch needs to be a step up.”

A lateral move is not in their best interest. They want to better their lives, just like everyone else. Switching to the same job is pointless and time-consuming.

These days, drivers know better than to give out their qualifications to random job recruitment sites. The expectation of recruiting ‘telemarketers’ constantly calling has put drivers on the defensive. One call too many and the driver’s cell phone is dead to potential recruiters.
