2014 AHA Environmental Scan Webcast Now Available
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- 2014 will continue to bring changes to hospitals and healthcare systems that will shape healthcare delivery for years to come. With its 2014 Environmental Scan (ES) webcast, the American Hospital Association will help healthcare leaders prepare themselves and their facilities to meet those challenges and find new opportunities to enhance patient care.
To create the Environmental Scan, the AHA analyzes data and information from more than 75 national organizations and governmental agencies, such as the highly respected McKinsey & Company consulting firm, the Commonwealth Fund, the Kaiser Family Foundation and the New England Journal of Medicine. The Environmental Scan also serves as the foundation of the AHA’s rolling 3-year strategic plan.
The 2014 AHA Environmental Scan [ES] takes an overall look at healthcare from a general perspective, focusing on nine areas:
• Consumers and Demographics
• Economy and Finance
• Human Resources
• Information Technology and E-Health
• Insurance and Coverage
• Political Issues
• Provider Organizations and Physicians
• Quality and Patient Safety
• Science and Technology
“The Environmental Scan gives healthcare executives valuable information that they can use to inform their strategic planning process,” said Gene O’Dell, vice president of strategic and business planning, who leads the Environmental Scan development process. “We often hear from healthcare systems that they employ the ES to map against their own internal assessment to identify gaps or to affirm findings and for many hospitals the ES offers a resource to assist them in better understanding the critical issues and emerging trends they will need to address through their strategic plans.”
The 2014 AHA Environmental scan provides healthcare leaders, as well as others who work with hospitals and healthcare systems, with insights into trends that are shaping healthcare both now and in the future. The Environmental Scan is an invaluable resource for hospital professionals who want to stay ahead of the curve and drive their patients toward better health outcomes.
