2014 Call for Entries to the International Lighting Design Awards
Como, Italy (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- The A’ International Lighting Design Award & Competition (ILDA) is open to all lighting designers, architects, engineers, professional designers and consultants who use, develop or design intelligent and innovative lighting products or projects. The A’ International Lighting Design Award is one of the largest and most prestigious lighting design accolades in the world and the ILDA trophy is one of the most coveted award in the lighting industry due to the rigorous judging process.
Entries to the lighting design awards will be judged by an international jury panel composed of experienced academics, professional designers and press members. Entries will be blind voted and the decision of the jury will be final. Lighting design entries scoring the highest number of points will qualify to receive the award winners’ kit, which includes a special PR campaign in addition to award trophy, design excellence certificate, the annual yearbook and invitation to the gala-night.
The International Lighting Design Awards are open to both concept stage and realized projects and products, which were designed in the last 10 years. For lighting projects, the following will be considered during evaluation of the entries: function and performance; compatibility with architecture; correct use of lighting products, effective use of lighting theory and techniques; choice of color, form and texture; energy efficiency and economic factors. Special recognition will also be given to projects that are classified as "green". Sustainable and ecologically compatible lighting that minimizes energy use, maximizes daylighting, control light dispersion and reduce “light pollution” will be highlighted. Lighting products will be considered for safety, ergonomics, function, performance, energy use and visual aesthetics.
A web-based interface has been developed to collect entries. Online entries must be received by midnight on February 28, 2014. Entries can be submitted through A’ Design Awards.
