We offer great wines in an authentic, laid-back setting – and that’s why people keep coming back.
Paso Robles, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2015
As the owners of Whalebone Vineyard in Paso Robles, Calif., Bob and Janalyn Simpson are celebrating 25 years in business with a recent mention in Forbes Magazine in addition to taking top honors at prestigious wine competitions. Whalebone Vineyard was singled out as one of the best wineries in Paso Robles.
“With our small, family-owned winery, we enjoy welcoming visitors back to our tasting room year after year,” says Bob Simpson. “We offer great wines in an authentic, laid-back setting – and that’s why people keep coming back.”
In her Forbes Magazine article “Five New Destinations For Wine Lovers,” writer Michelle Doucette mentions Whalebone Vineyard as being among the “must-see tasting rooms” in San Luis Obispo County. Located along the California Central Coast half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the SLO County Wine Region boasts more than 200 area wineries. “We are one of the original wineries in the SLO County Wine Region and we are proud to offer what we like to refer to as ‘the best wines in Paso Robles.’ Our Wine Club members know this and those who stop by our Whalebone Vineyard Tasting Barn soon discover this as well,” adds Simpson.
At the 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, four Whalebone wines earned medals: 2012 Boneyard, Gold Medal; 2011 BOBWINE, Silver Medal; 2012 BOBWINE, Silver Medal; and 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, Silver Medal.
“The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition is the largest competition of American wines in the world,” says Janalyn Simpson. “We have earned medals several years running – a true testament to our fruit and to the skills and ability of our winemaker, Dan Kleck.”
Wine Club & Upcoming Events
Members of the Whalebone Vineyard Wine Club may choose from three different levels – Club BOB, Club RED, and Club JAN – with each including discounts on bi-annual shipments, customized orders, exclusive invitations to wine pick-up parties featuring Simpson family homemade tri-tip sliders and homemade ice cream, vineyard tours, barrel tasting, and more. To date, the wine club is near capacity with wine club members enjoying shipments of Cabernet Sauvignon, BOBWINE, Rhone blends and Zinfandel. In September they will be bottling a new Bordeaux Rhone blend.
“Our Tasting Barn has a family atmosphere and this extends to our wine shipments, parties, tours, and everything we do here at Whalebone,” adds Bob Simpson. “Guest will always be greeted by one of our family members including our daughters Amanda and Ali, our son Jake, our son-in-law Travis, and our nephew Sam.”
The Simpsons family will participate in and pour their Whalebone Vineyard wines during Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend March 21 and 22, 2015. On April 11, the family will host their Spring 2015 wine pick-up party.
