2015-2016 STEM Jobs Approved (SM) Surveys Now Open: Ground-breaking Assessments Will Identify Leading Programs That Connect Classrooms to Careers in Stem Fields
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- Victory Media announced today the opening of its 2015-2016 STEM JobsSM Approved survey assessments for colleges, high schools, employers and STEM-focused industry partners. Following the STEM JobsSM mission of empowering young people to “do what you love” for a living, STEM JobsSM Approved ratings provide high school students and parents—along with K-12 school staff, company recruiters, HR teams and diversity managers—information about how STEM educational programs translate into real-world, long-term careers in science, technology, engineering and math fields. Taking one or more of the STEM JobsSM Approved annual surveys is the first step for educators, employers and industry partners to understand how well they connect “classrooms to careers” for the nation’s next generation of professionals.
“STEM JobsSM inspires students to pursue their interests throughout their lives. Our ratings identify best practices and leaders in STEM education, recruitment, and workforce development,” says Daniel Nichols, President of STEM Jobs.
This year, STEM JobsSM launches four distinct but complementary surveys:
1. STEM JobsSM Approved Colleges for post-secondary schools,
2. STEM JobsSM Approved Schools for high school administrators and school districts;
3. STEM JobsSM Approved Employers for organizations seeking STEM-qualified job candidates; and
4. STEM JobsSM Approved Partners for businesses, industry organizations and non-profits committed to filling the technical skills and employment gap and empowering more women and minorities to enter STEM.
Each survey captures information about activities, resources and outcomes in four focus areas: STEM Partnership, Diversity, Career Orientation and Student Opportunity. Questions are scored against national benchmarks derived from research-based practices that support and enhance a diverse and STEM-capable talent pipeline.
The STEM JobsSM Approved Awards program begins with the announcement of the first Industry Awards in the Early Fall issue of STEM JobsSM magazine. National Awards will be announced in Late Fall, and Top 50 rankings will be unveiled in the 2016 Winter and Spring editions of the publication. Lists and awards will also be available online, along with prior year recipients, at http://www.stemjobs.com.
STEM JobsSM Approved survey results and ratings, plus articles, magazines and online resources, are distributed for free in thousands of secondary and post-secondary institutions nationwide and online.
