2015 GCN Awards Call for Nominations Now Open
Vienna, VA (PRWEB) March 30, 2015 -- 1105 Public Sector Media Group and GCN are pleased to announce that the 2015 GCN Awards call for nominations is now open.
Celebrating its 28th year, the GCN Awards recognize the contribution and commitment to excellence of federal, state and local agency IT teams in building government systems. Team nominations can be entered at http://www.gcn.com/gcnawards before May 22, 2015.
Once the nominations are in, a distinguished panel of judges from the public sector community will select 10 projects to receive top honors. An additional 10 projects will receive an honorable mention for having made a substantial impact on their agencies.
"Unlike the Federal 100 awards, which honor the contribution of individuals making government better, the GCN Awards celebrate the efforts of often small teams of men and women who pick the tools, outline the approaches and choose the people to carry out the collective creativity of government system-building,” said Paul McCloskey, Editor-in-Chief of GCN. “Never has there been a time when the technologies these teams use been more powerful nor the expectations of their success been higher. In recognizing this, the 2015 GCN Awards program puts out a call to the government IT community to nominate teams and their projects that represent the value of teamwork and technology in these challenging times.”
GCN Award winners will be featured in the October issue of GCN and at the GCN Awards Gala celebration October 14, 2015.
At the Gala, 1105 Media will also honor individual employees from the public and private sectors as FCW’s 2015 Rising Stars. These individuals, who are in the first 10 years of their federal IT careers, have made significant impacts on the government technology community and appear poised for broader leadership roles in the years to come.
