2015 Healthcare Excellence in Aquatics Award Nominations Sought by HydroWorx
Middletown, PA (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- The practice of aquatic therapy has risen significantly over the past decade, partially due to the prevalence of new aquatics practices, training and equipment, such as therapy pools outfitted with underwater treadmills. To recognize those who are pioneering the burgeoning world of advanced aquatics, HydroWorx is bestowing a 2015 Healthcare Excellence in Aquatics Award on one exceptional hydrotherapy rehabilitation professional, as well as his or her facility or community.

The 2015 Healthcare Excellence in Aquatics Award first-place winner will receive a trophy and a $1,000 cash prize, and the second-place winner will receive $500 in cash. Winners will be announced at the APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 6, 2015 in the HydroWorx Booth, #1320. Nominees or members of their teams must be present to receive the award.
Submissions are being accepted for the 2015 Healthcare Excellence in Aquatics Award until Friday, November 28, 2014, at 11:59 EST. To submit a remarkable case study, please visit, http://ww2.hydroworx.com/healthcare-award, and download the Submission Form. All submitted case studies, which involve a patient who utilized HydroWorx aquatic therapy for a portion of their rehab during the 2013 and 2014 calendar years, will be evaluated by HydroWorx professionals prior to being selected as the final nominees.
Upon selecting the top case studies, a public voting website will be opened where individuals are allowed to vote once per day. Additionally, the final nominees will have their submissions judged by a panel of noted experts in the hydrotherapy industry, including Dr. Kevin Wilk, PT, DPT, FAPTA, Dr. Dennis Dolny, PhD, Dr. Paul Hetrick, D.C., R.C.R.D., C.C.E.P., Keith McCrate, PT, Kim Eichinger, Executive Director of Fitness, and Veronica Paquette, PT. The independent judges will select the winner based on the following criteria:
• The rehabilitation utilized HydroWorx aquatic therapy.
• The case study displayed innovativeness and progression of rehab protocols with particular attention to the aquatics portion.
• The patient demonstrated exceptional and remarkable results based on the industry standard for this particular rehab.
• The patient achieved or exceeded their personal goal as a result of the rehabilitation program.
• The clinician utilized a Heuristic approach in the delivery of the treatment protocol.*
