“Healthcare data security is becoming increasingly complex and daunting, with mounting breach threats and incidents, the shift to value-based care, and growing compliance requirements,” says Reclamere CEO, Angie Singer Keating.

Reclamere, the company that positions businesses to implement secure data processes in the workplace and safely and securely dispose of their IT assets, announced it will hold its first conference focused on healthcare security, Sept. 22nd. Open to all interested parties, the free event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Ben Franklin Institute, Innovation Park, 200 Innovation Blvd., Suite 101, in University Park, Pennsylvania.

Designed for healthcare IT and compliance professionals, the conference will feature insight from Reclamere CEO and nationally-recognized data security expert Angie Singer Keating, and President Joe Harford on how to proactively overcome cybersecurity challenges. (Please see bios here.)

“Healthcare data security is becoming increasingly complex and daunting, with mounting breach threats and incidents, the shift to value-based care, and growing compliance requirements,” Keating says. “This conference is part of our ongoing effort to help healthcare professionals stay in front of developing issues. Armed with knowledge and perspective, they can prepare so as to avoid unnecessary risks, leverage new opportunities, and improve patient care.”

Workshops will cover these key topics:

  •     How to implement technology solutions that don’t hinder patient care while still providing confidentiality and security of patient information
  •     Understanding why risk analysis is the cornerstone of MACRA and HIPAA compliance
  •     How to painlessly vet business associates to ensure compliance with more stringent HIPAA requirements
  •     Learn how even smaller and regional healthcare providers can have world class security expertise

“As existing programs such as Meaningful Use are phased out, and new programs such as MACRA are implemented it is more important than ever to understand patient health information technology so patient outcomes are improved and reimbursements from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) are maximized,” Keating added.

The agenda also includes a roundtable lunch discussion regarding the three top challenges attendees are facing in their IT security plans, as well as opportunities to speak with Reclamere experts and network. Reclamere leaders also will showcase how the company has evolved over 15 years into a premier data security provider and thought leader, share their vision, and unveil new service offerings.

Dan Leri, director of Innovation Park at Penn State University, will deliver keynote remarks on “Doing the Right Things (Not Always the Easiest) in Life & Leadership in Today’s Changing Business Environment.”

Qualifying attendees may earn continuing education unit (CEU) credits.
