2016 Small Business New Year’s Resolutions in American Cities
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) December 30, 2015 -- New Year’s Resolutions, although not always adhered to 100 percent, are a good practice to have in your personal and business life. A company’s New Year’s resolutions should be considered to be a set of attainable goals that the organization can reach in the coming year. Merchant Cash USA, a financial organization that supports American small businesses, wanted to know what resolutions its clients were most interested in setting in 2016.
Merchant Cash USA surveyed small business owners throughout the U.S. to see what small business New Year’s resolutions were most popular in what city. Third-party marketing company Cobia Systems conducted the survey through a short email and social media campaign.
4,678 small business owners, across major U.S. cities, were given a list of 10 general business New Year’s resolutions. They were asked to quickly rank what their top two resolutions would be for their organization. The data was then compiled to see which business resolution was most popular in which major city across the country.
The results of the survey (in no particular order) are list below.
Top Resolutions for Small Businesses in 2016 by City (Survey results of 4,678)
“I will increase social media postings and get more likes/followers.”
-Miami
“I will further education on my particular industry.”
-Chicago
“I will network more.”
-San Francisco
“I will renovate and/or expand my business.”
-Houston
“I will promote my business regularly and consistently.”
-Boston
“I will set realistic goals.”
-Minneapolis
“I will increase sales by 10-20% in 2016.”
-Detroit
“I will explore opportunities to partner with other local businesses.”
-Dallas
“I will reduce overhead costs and increase cash flow.”
-Pittsburgh
“I will give back to my employees through increased programs and support.”
-Oklahoma City
Looking at this list it is clear that most of these resolutions are aligned with a particular city’s needs. Forbes reported earlier this year that Houston is one of the fastest growing cities in America. Over 667,000 new jobs have been created in Houston since 2005. Resolutions surrounding renovation and expansion in Houston support this sentiment. Another city on the list, Detroit, is looking to increase sales by a realistic 10-20 percent This is fitting since the city is determined to bounce back from the bankruptcy that Detroit filed in late 2014.
The people at Merchant Cash USA are dedicated to help small businesses reach their New Year’s Resolutions, especially if companies need assistance with financing. Alternative funding through merchant cash advances are quickly becoming one of the top ways business owners can get lower amounts of fast capital to help expand their business, in case of an emergency, or when an unexpected cost arises.
“It’s important that small businesses have at least one achievable resolution on their radar going into the New Year,” says the Chief Communications Officer of Merchant Cash USA Darrin Landau. "Attempting to carry out these resolutions should be something that can be done in an effort to expand their business and achieve success in 2016."
