2017 Deseret News Home Show Opens October 13 with DIY Network’s Jeff Devlin Appearing on the Design Stage All Weekend
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) October 02, 2017 -- The 2017 Deseret News Home Show opens its doors on Friday, October 13, 2017 and continues through Sunday, October 15 at the South Towne Expo Center. This fall, the Home Show team welcomes Jeff Devlin of DIY Network’s Stone House Revival and Laurie March of HGTV’s The House Counselor. Both celebrity guests will appear on the Design Stage at the Home Show all weekend.
Jeff Devlin is a licensed contractor whose knowledge and skills caught the attention of DIY Network and HGTV. He has hosted several home improvement TV shows, including HGTV’s I Hate My Bath and Ellen’s Design Challenge, DIY Network’s Good, Better, Best, and he is the current host of DIY Network’s Stone House Revival. Devlin will be on the Design Stage presented by Xfinity on Friday, October 13 at 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.; and Sunday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m.
Also, Laurie March, home improvement expert and the host of HGTV’s The House Counselor, will appear on the Design Stage on Friday, October 13 at 4:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; and Sunday, October 15 at noon.
This season, the Home Show will feature the Bathroom Wars challenge. Two blogger groups, Tinsel + Wheat and Rad + The Rest, will showcase their creative talents by designing dream bathrooms that will be on display and up for a vote at the Home Show. Also, four local pergola companies are creating relaxing Zen Dens where guests can gather inspiration for an oasis in their own homes. Finally, Home Show guests have an opportunity to support local charities at the Holiday Door Décor display and silent auction. Ten local charities have created beautiful holiday wreaths that will be available for purchase all weekend. All money raised in the silent auction will go directly to each charity. On the Kitchen Stage, Nettie Frank, owner of Silver Whisk Catering and creator of Beyond Glazed Doughnuts, will share her favorite fall recipes to feed a crowd on the Kitchen Stage presented by Inspiration Kitchen & Bath Designs.
New this year, the Home Show is offering limited valet parking courtesy of Amsco Windows at the South Towne Expo Center and a shuttle service to and from the inContact parking structure—both at no cost to Home Show guests.
