2017 iaedp™ Symposium Continues Tradition of Presenting the Latest in Eating Disorder Treatment with Top Professionals in U.S.
Pekin, IL (PRWEB) December 11, 2016 -- The 31st annual iaedp (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals) Symposium has announced its 2017 program schedule, now available online. This year’s conference event will continue the Symposium’s reputation for presenting the latest in new treatments and research concerning eating disorders. The dynamic Symposium will take place March 22 - 26 at the Green Valley Resort and Spa in Las Vegas and will feature nearly 60 sessions, including keynote speakers, workshops, pre-certification courses and other special events.
In addition to the many workshops and educational courses, the winners of iaedp’s “Imagine Me Beyond What You See” Body Image Mannequin Art Competition will be revealed and spotlighted at the Symposium. This unique competition, an awareness-through-art contest, is in its seventh year.
“The field of eating disorders is always changing, whether that includes treatment methods, new research or a new healthcare system,” said Bonnie Harken, Managing Director of the iaedp Foundation. “Our purpose at iaedp is to provide a forum for eating disorder professionals to discuss these changes as well as educate and exchange information and personally network among the most noteworthy professionals in the field.”
The 2017 iaedp Symposium offers five days of training sessions and instructive presentations. Highlights of the workshops offered include: treating chronically ill anorexic patients, navigating emotional recoveries, special nutritional treatment of eating disorder patients, medical comorbidities affected by an eating disorder and insights into Binge Eating Disorder, among the many other relevant topics.
Due to its extreme popularity, iaedp will once again offer its pre-certification courses onsite at the 2017 Symposium. With these courses, professionals who are new to the field or who do not specialize in eating disorders can receive a first-hand, comprehensive introduction to eating disorder treatment.
