SALT LAKE CITY (PRWEB) March 01, 2018 -- The 2018 Salt Lake Tribune Home + Garden Show opens its doors on Friday, March 9, 2018 and continues through Sunday, March 11 at the Mountain America Expo Center, formerly South Towne Expo Center. This Spring, the Home Show team welcomes Karl Champley, host of DIY Network’s Wasted Spaces and DIY To The Rescue and winner of HGTV’s Ellen’s Design Challenge, and Joanie Sprague, carpenter on the revival of TLC’s Trading Spaces and runner up on season six of America’s Next Top Model. Both celebrity guests will appear on the Design Stage at the Home + Garden Show throughout the weekend. Another exciting feature at the Home Show are the Feature Gardens. Seven local landscaping companies, including Amcor Masonry, Affordable Lawn Care & Landscape, S & L Landscapes, Nite Scapes, Rasmussen Landscapes, Olympus Maintenance of Utah, and Simplified Landscaping, have created 25,000 square feet of horticultural designs for Home Show guests to walk through and find inspiration.
Karl Champley has been a big name in the construction business for more than 30 years. As a master builder, Champley has used his expertise to complete countless commercial and residential construction projects around the world. Champley is passionate about incorporating environmentally conscious products and materials into his builds and educating home owners about the true meaning of “going green.” Not only is Champley a familiar face on DIY Network and HGTV, but he’s also a radio host, author, and blogger. Champley will be on the Design Stage at the Home Show on Friday, March 9 at 5 p.m.; Saturday, March 10 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, March 11 at 2 p.m.
Also on the national celebrity guest lineup is the newest member of the TLC’s Trading Spaces team, Joanie Sprague. Many people may recognize Sprague as the runner up on season six of America’s Next Top Model and her appearances on DIY Network’s Run My Renovation and Man Caves. Although her modeling career brought several opportunities around the globe, Sprague’s skills in home improvement and carpentry landed her a role on the revival of Trading Spaces. Sprague will be on the Design Stage at the Home Show on Friday, March 9 at 3 p.m.; Saturday, March 10 at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, March 11 at noon.
This season, the Home Show has teamed up with Airstream of Utah to host the Airstream Remodel Giveaway. Utah residents can go online (http://www.SaltLakeTribuneHomeShow.com) to enter to win a fully refurbished 1968 Airstream Safari Land Yacht, valued at $65,000. The winner will be announced live at the Home Show on Saturday, March 10 at 6 p.m., and the Airstream will be on display in the Garden Center at the Show.
New to the Home + Garden Show are the Make It, Take It workshops sponsored by Plant Nite and Chalk Couture and the Education Tracks where experts in home improvement and landscaping will teach classes at the show. Additionally, Home Show guests have the opportunity to participate in the Blooming Hope Floral Auction on Saturday, March 10 at 3 p.m. Florists from Every Blooming Thing will create floral arrangements that will be auctioned off on the Design Stage. All proceeds benefit Primary Children’s Hospital.
The Home + Garden Show is offering free valet parking—first come, first serve— at the Mountain America Expo Center plus a complimentary shuttle service to and from the inContact parking structure on Friday after 5:00 p.m. and all day on Saturday and Sunday.
