2019 VW Arteon offers better performance versus Malibu, Fusion

When the 2019 Volkswagen Areton arrives at the Spitzer Volkswagen showroom, it will be the first midsize sedan in the segment to really put some life back into the class. The automaker has used one of its newest global platforms for the Arteon which not only makes it a striking sight to see on the road but also makes it very comfortable for all five passengers that can ride inside of it. Even with all of the innovation and technology that has gone into building the VW Arteon, it still has some tough competition to face in its corner of the automotive industry. In order to help potential buyers get an idea of what the new Volkswagen fastback sedan has to offer, the product experts at Spitzer VW have compared the upcoming vehicle against popular sedans from Ford and Chevrolet.

Even a high-level comparison of the  2019 VW Arteon versus 2018 Chevy Malibu reveals several interesting bits of information. The most glaring disparity between the two members of the midsize sedan class occurs with the cars' powertrain. Volkswagen has chosen a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

By comparison, the 2018 Malibu actually uses a larger 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. However, drivers of the 2019 Arteon has a peak output of 268 horsepower and the Malibu comes in under 165 horsepower.

Additionally, all of the available trims for the new Arteon can be equipped with all-wheel-drive.

The same advantages the 2019 Volkswagen Arteon has over the Malibu, the dynamic fastback sedan also demonstrates them  against the 2018 Ford Fusion. Ford has provided the Fusion sedan with more performance than the Malibu, making 175 horsepower. VW owners will have an edge over the Fusion with the available technology options in the Arteon. Both sedans are compatible with Android- and Apple-based smartphone applications. However, the Arteon goes a step further with its Digital Cockpit Display that can be customized to display everything from navigation information to the statuses of various systems.

Spitzer Volkswagen expects the 2019 VW Arteon to arrive in its showroom during the third quarter of 2018.
