2021 CISO Challenge Winner Announced by Cynet
Highest Ranking Contestant Awarded $5,000 Prize
BOSTON, June 8, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cynet (http://www.cynet.com) today announced the winner of the 2021 CISO Challenge, which concluded after the successful participation of more than 700 contestants. The 15-day challenge was introduced as a way for security leaders to test their knowledge against peers in the areas of regulatory compliance, risk assessment and management, security awareness and training, threat and vulnerability management, incident management, as well as measurement and metrics.
The CISO Challenge (https://ciso-challenge.com/) was designed to be an exciting and engaging contest where hundreds of security leaders would be able to test their knowledge in a competitive atmosphere. In additional to offering a compelling cash award to the winner, the challenge allowed professionals to receive feedback from contest organizers on where they stood among peers.
Taking the winning spot and the $5,000 cash prize in the challenge was Mr. Daniel Bak, Senior IT Security Engineer at CMG Financial. When not winning contests, Daniel ensures security is considered during the initiation of new projects and platforms as one of his many responsibilities at CMG Financial. From his perspective, security in today's ever-changing landscape needs to be considered from the initial stages of project planning, development, and testing -- before going live.
"If security and related policies are an afterthought, an organization is likely to run into either security issues down the line, or long delays due to having to rethink and rearchitect the project," said Mr. Bak. "Ensuring these align with the goals of the business is a key component to the success of any security program."
"I feel privileged and honored to partake in what was a fun and challenging contest. Competing among other professionals and testing my knowledge was a good way to keep my skills sharp. The real world questions definitely made me think how I would handle the given situations," added Bak. "I'm glad to have participated, ecstatic at being named the winner, and looking forward to future challenges."
"The CISO Challenge is among many programs we sponsor to help build a stronger community for InfoSec leaders," said Eyal Gruner, Cynet CEO. "With diverse backgrounds, knowledge levels, and industries, we were impressed to see so many of these experts performing well on the CISO Challenge."
