21st Century Oncology Appoints Timothy Shafman, M.D. as Senior Vice President, National Medical Director
FORT MYERS, FL (PRWEB) February 04, 2016 -- 21st Century Oncology is proud to announce that Dr. Timothy Shafman has been appointed Senior Vice President, National Medical Director at 21st Century Oncology. Dr. Shafman is moving from Rhode Island where he served as the Medical Director of 21st Century Oncology’s New England region.
Dr. Shafman is a graduate of the Harvard Medical School in the Harvard University-Massachusetts Institute of Technology Division of Health Sciences and Technology. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, he completed a residency in Radiation Oncology at the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy, where he was elected Chief Resident in the final year of his training.
Dr. Shafman went on to serve as an attending physician for five years at the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy, before moving on to continue his clinical research on brain and lung tumors at the Duke University Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncology. He has been with 21st Century Oncology since 2004, and helped establish the company’s presence in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
