24/7 Care At Home Welcomes Michael Demoratz, PhD, LCSW, CCM as New Palliative Care Administrator
Orange County, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2015 -- 24/7 Care At Home, a leading provider of home health care throughout Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino counties, today announced that Dr. Michael Demoratz, PhD, LCSW, CCM is joining the administrative team as the new Palliative Care Administrator. Dr. Demoratz is a strong proponent of early access to palliative care services for the underserved populations in Southern California. He has provided operational leadership for the development of unique, innovative and “out-of-the-box” thinking strategies to directly address and reduce patient suffering from the effects of a serious illness.
Throughout much of his 30-year career, Dr. Demoratz has gained professional experience across the entire spectrum of the healthcare continuum, from inpatient acute care to all levels of post-acute settings. He provides clinical support for patients facing the end of life and their families. Hospice and palliative care have been an ever-present focus of his professional experience. A nationally recognized speaker on hospice and end-of-life care, Dr. Demoratz has presented at hundreds of conferences to both professional and lay audiences. Additionally, he has published numerous articles on end-of-life care, including hospice and palliative care, bereavement, pain management, and catastrophic case management. In 1995, he co-authored the groundbreaking text, Dying 101: A Short Course on Living for the Terminally Ill, in an effort to demystify the process for patients and their families.
“I am privileged to join a dedicated team of home health care experts and will continue 24/7 Care At Home’s mission to provide high quality, compassionate, and cost-effective care through leadership, outcomes management, and maintaining an ethical workplace,” said Dr. Demoratz. “Having an experienced team ensures we can give the best care available to our patients.”
Dr. Demoratz received both a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh, and his doctorate in organizational development from the International Reform University. He holds a California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is a board certified case manager (CCM). He is a certified senior advisor (CSA) and an Aging Life Care Professional. He is also an approved continuing education provider for the California Board of Registered Nursing. Currently, Dr. Demoratz serves as the commissioner for the Commission for Case Manager Certification and as a board member for the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California.
“Dr. Michael Demoratz brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our administrative team,” said Michelle Nguyen, RN, BSN, Director of Patient Care Services at 24/7 Care At Home. “We are excited to have his insight and direction as we continue to provide our patients with supreme home health care.”
