24Hr HomeCare Provides Caregivers With Fall Prevention Training
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 06, 2014 -- A leading provider of non-medical homecare in California, 24Hr HomeCare, announced today the launch of its Hospital to Your Home™ Fall Prevention Program, which aims to reduce seniors’ risk of falling and prevent resulting injuries, traumas and hospital readmissions. Partnering with the Fall Prevention Program of Contra Costa County (Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services), the care provider has developed an exclusive Fall Prevention Trainer program, to be completed by all human resources personnel. All program graduates may provide Caregivers with Fall Prevention training and certification.
Fall Prevention Training includes a 24Hr HomeCare exclusive course that examines fall statistics among the elderly, as well as intrinsic, behavioral, and extrinsic risk factors. Fall Prevention Trainers will discuss strategies to avoid falls, such as creating a safer home environment, reviewing medications, and checking vision, in addition to what to do in case of a fall. Each Caregiver will receive a “Fall Prevention Certified” diploma upon passing a Fall Prevention Exam. 24Hr HomeCare plans to certify its Caregivers at each of the eight California locations by fall of 2014.
