2nd Annual Toy Ride to Benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children® — Los Angeles Patients and Families
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 16, 2016 -- The second annual Toy Ride once again spearheaded by the Encino Shrine Club and the Ruthless Ryders Motocycle Club will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles.
Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles is a pediatric specialty hospital for orthopaedic conditions, hand disorders, burn scars, and cleft and lip palate. Shriners Hospitals for Children provides world-class care to children under 18 regardless of the families’ ability to pay.
Last year, over 200 motorcycle riders delivered over 3,500 toys to the patients at Shriners Hospital. This year, it’s anticipated that over 300 bikers will be delivering toys. Included in this year’s ride will be the LAPD Hollywood Gang Division who will escort the bikers to the hospital. In addition, Shriners Hospital will have the participation of the Sacred Steel riders from the Sacred Steel program featured on the Discovery Channel, the Star Wars Storm Troopers, the Los Angeles Fire Department Station No. 6, and many other Nobles from the Almalaikah Temple. The following motorcycle clubs are joining in on this year’s ride: Encino Shrine Club (part of the Almalaikah Shriners), Ruthless Ryderz, Vet Hunters Military motorcycle club, Armenian Bikers Motorcycle Riding Group, Armenian Professionals Motorcycling Group, Rebel Legion, 501st Legion, and the Almalaikah Motor Patrol.
These groups plan to conduct this heart-warming event every year to show their strong support in bringing some holiday cheer to Shriners' patients and their families during the Holiday season.
“We are so excited to host this wonderful holiday event again this year. The toys donated by the Ruthless Ryderz, the Encino Shrine Club, and other groups make the holidays brighter for the children and families served by Shriners Hospitals for Children – Los Angeles,” says Aaron Hanson, Donor Development Director.
Excitement is already building for next year’s event given Shriners Hospitals for Children – Los Angeles will be relocating to the new Shriners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena in summer of 2017.
