360Heros Announces New 360 Video Player and Hosting Syndication Center
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) January 15, 2015 -- 360Heros Inc., a company specializing in 360 video and VR technology, has announced the release of a new 360 Video Hosting and Syndication Center featuring an interactive panoramic video player. This service allows producers to upload content with resolutions as high as 4K and the ability to optimize files for Samsung Gear VR and Oculus Rift environments. In terms of viewing on the web, the built in 360 video player is optimized to be data friendly and offers the option to toggle between 4K, 2K and optimized 1K mobile streaming. The player is also fully compatible with mobile browsers, eliminating the need to navigate to a separate app to experience embedded content on the web.
"Our goal with this new service and player was to create a single solution for displaying high resolution interactive 360 video content on any mobile device, VR gear or web browser." Stated 360Heros CEO Michael Kintner when asked about the release.
This new player optimizes the display content in H.264 format, generating both MP4 and WEBM format in 4K, 2K and 1K resolutions so all browsers and mobile devices can see the content. All users are encouraged to upload their content at a 4K (4,000 x 2,000) resolution, as the new player will automatically adjust the resolution based on the viewing device. While desktop and laptop browsers will automatically default to 2K, users can choose to switch playback to 4K or 1K playback modes. Mobile browsers will default to 1K streaming in an effort to be data friendly but can be switched to 2K streaming.
Mobile browser compatibility means that producers can embed their 360 videos on any webpage without the need to utilize a separate app in order to play back the content. This is ideal for producers who wish to embed their content on their website or in blog posts without forcing viewers to navigate away from their site. Also, when embedded in a webpage, the new player functions with the accelerometer and gyro sensors in both iOS and Android mobile devices, meaning the videos are fully interactive within the web page.
The 360 Video Hosting and Syndication Center comes as the next generation of the company's previous hosting service and features high speed CDN services. With this new hosting center, producers can choose between a free package or professional hosting packages that offer custom player branding and greater media upload capabilities. This hosting center is also the world's first integrated panoramic content syndication service, as it facilitates inquiries from potential media buyers and provides an avenue for producers to license their content for web viewing, Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR display.
360Heros has put together a professional team dedicated to handling the syndication of content for users regardless of their hosting package. This includes helping media buyers discover content and facilitating deals that will earn producers income and gain exposure for their work.
"Our main goal with this service is to give producers the freedom to do what they do best and go out and film content while our in-house legal team handles the licensing, contracting and tracking for them."
