360Heros Launches Virtual Reality 360 Video Tech Tour
Olean, NY (PRWEB) February 27, 2015 -- 360Heros, a company specializing in virtual reality camera technology, is traveling the country teaching people about VR tech and raising awareness for the tools needed to create VR content. Traveling in a coach bus loaded to the teeth with VR tech branded the "360RV", the VR 360 Video Tech Tour has already rolled through International CES, the Sundance Film Festival and paid a visit to the tour's sponsor Intel Thunderbolt. Visits to other companies such as Facebook, Microsoft, LaCie and Intel's main facility in Portland Oregon are other notable stops from the tour thus far.
The goals of this tour are to allow people to see the latest in virtual reality and 360 video technology first hand. This includes demoing content captured with the company's VR camera systems via the new Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift and Google Cardboard VR viewers. 360Heros also allows visitors to see its full line of VR camera systems and explains the capture, production workflow and display options in creating VR content.
CES served as the debut for the tour, where the 360Heros team partnered with Intel Thunderbolt to present VR 360 video content from the tour bus as well as Intel's booth within the Las Vegas Convention Center. Sundance was a similar story, as the 360Heros team shared VR content throughout the week and CEO Michael Kintner presented on VR content creation as a part of the HP Filmmaker's Speaker Series.
NAB in April is shaping up to the be company's largest event yet, as the tour bus will be inside the Convention Center as a part of the New Media Expo's virtual reality contingent. At NAB, Kintner will once again present on VR tech, having already been featured by Video Ink for his take on VR content creation: "Now filmmakers can drop us into an experience virtually at resolutions as high as 12,000 x 6,000 pixels. This true 4K FOV lets us explore environments for ourselves with stunning clarity via VR gear, IMAX theaters and dome projection systems. It’s that freedom and opportunity to learn and explore that makes VR content so exciting."
Another exciting development at NAB will be the debut of 360Heros VR live streaming with the first models set up to stream directly from the tour bus. Visitors to the 360Heros booth at NAB will be able to watch a live feed directly from the tradeshow floor via the Oculus Rift, online streaming and mobile devices. The company's dome theater partner Elumenati will also have a large interactive projection dome monitor on display, allowing attendees to experience 360 degree video content all around them.
Seeing the latest in VR tech isn't the only treat people enjoy upon encountering the 360RV, as the tour bus also plays host to ongoing contests. Anyone who shares a picture of the 360Heros tour bus with the hashtag "#360RV" on social media (the contest accepts entries via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr and Google+) are automatically entered for a change to win a GoPro Hero4 camera. A new contest begins at the beginning of each trade show and event, giving attendees a fresh chance at winning. These images are automatically uploaded to a gallery on the VR Tech Tour's website that tells the stories of the 360RV's travels. Between the new cutting edge tech, immersive VR experiences and giveaways, the VR 360 Video Tech Tour is an exciting development in the VR community.
