371 Paratrooper Jumps from an Airplane Is Just the Beginning
Evansville, IN (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Sometimes you meet a person whose life is so extraordinary, there is nothing to do but share it with the world. Meet Emmet D. Edwards Jr., a man who is more than his 371 jumps from an airplane.
It is the people living day-to-day in America, who fight for our country, teach our children and develop our cities and towns that make America what it is today.
Edward’s book “Time in the Prop Blast” is a description of a man who did exactly that.
A chronicle of Edward’s extraordinarily ordinary life, “Time in the Prop Blast” describes the moments that define a person with beautiful emotional clarity. From his time serving in the United States Army to meeting his wife Ruth, this book is a nostalgic trip.
When Edwards was a young boy, his grade school teachers consistently told him he could be anything he wanted if he was willing to work for it. Edwards took that advice to heart joining the army as a paratrooper, completing over 300 jumps.
Although he didn’t finish high school, he went on to achieve a bachelor’s and master’s degree after progressing quickly through the ranks in the United States Army.
“We seem to have come to a judgment about people that says, ‘a good accountant would never jump from an airplane,’” Edwards said. “I was one of the best accountants I ever knew and I have made more parachute jumps than anyone else I know.”
