#2 - Suunto Ambit 2R - "This watch pretty well mirrors the Garmin 220 for features with the exception of the Bluetooth Smart, but it does have the built-in cadence and adds trackback maps that the Garmin does not have," says Squire. He adds, "This is the best looking everyday watch in the running watch category and is exceptionally well built with quartz crystal and steel bezel."

#3 - Polar RC3 - "This is a 5 zone watch with advanced heart rate and training features, plus it can also do cycling data," says Squire. He adds, "This watch offers a very easy to use interface and does an excellent job with metric data."

"Polar RC3 is not for swimming but it is water resistant whereas, the Suunto Ambit 2R and Garmin Forerunner 220 are both fine to 30 meters plus," says Squire. He adds, "For women I'd rate the Garmin 220 the best because it is small, light and fits well thanks to the hinged band."
