3A Automotive & Diesel Helping Suicidal and PTSD Arizona Veterans Find Best Friends
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) October 21, 2016 -- Jimmy Alauria, owner of 3A Automotive & Diesel, is proud to announce the family-owned and operated auto repair facility has started a GoFundMe campaign for Soldier’s Best Friend, which provides U.S. military veterans living with combat-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with service or therapeutic companion dogs. The campaign, started in honor of Veteran’s Day in November, will go from October 21 to November 11.
Alauria was inspired by the 22 Pushups for 22 Days Challenge, aimed at bringing awareness of the 22 veterans that commit suicide every day. “I saw people doing 22 pushups for 22 days but realized there wasn’t any money going to help veterans,” said Alauria. “With our GoFundMe campaign, we will raise money for the cause.”
During its campaign, 3A Automotive & Diesel will also be donating $22 to Soldier’s Best Friend for every oil change. The cost per service dog is $4,000, including four to six months of training. Once a veteran or active military member is accepted into the Soldier’s Best Friend program they will be paired with a dog adopted from a local shelter. They will live together from that point forward.
“Soldier’s Best Friend is a great solution for helping our Arizona veterans deal with post-war mental challenges. I feel like it is our duty as business owners to do what we can to help put a stop to 22 American veterans from committing suicide per day in Arizona,” concluded Alauria. “Supporting Soldier’s Best Friend gives our company and our customers an opportunity give back to the heroes who have fought for human rights and freedom.”
