3scale Announces Updated Integration for Amazon API Gateway at AWS Pop-up Loft London
London, UK (PRWEB) April 25, 2016 -- Today, at the AWS Pop-up Loft in London, 3scale announced significant updates to its previous for the Amazon API Gateway that combines Amazon’s technical API operations features with 3scale’s powerful, secure and Web-scalable API management business ops features. The full-complement API management solution between AWS and 3scale is now even easier to set up and configure. The new integration uses ElastiCache, which substantially reduces latency with caching and asynchronous updates between the Amazon API Gateway and 3scale. Additionally, use of the Serverless Framework makes short work of configuration and the optimization of AWS Lambda functions. Finally, the new integration is based on the recently announced concept of AWS Custom Request Authorizers, which allows the authorization of APIs using bearer token authorization strategies using an AWS Lambda function. With the specific Custom Request Authorizer developed by 3scale, the integration between the two solutions is now deeper and more powerful and flexible at the same time. As before, the integration allows a selection of deployment options including running zero-infrastructure APIs with AWS Lambda, or with backend services using AWS EC2. Optional extensions for both methods include perimeter protection against DDoS attacks, API acceleration through content caching with CloudFront, and enhanced monitoring with CloudWatch. The integration is available now on all 3scale plans.
