4DSP Adds To Its Industry Leading FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) Portfolio with the FMC160 A/D – D/A and FMC161 A/D Modules
Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- 4DSP announced today the release of two new FPGA Mezzanine Cards (FMC – VITA 57.1) for high speed data acquisition and generation. The FMC160 provides one 12-bit A/D channel at 3.6Gsps and one 14-bit D/A channel at 5.6Gsps (2.8Gsps direct RF synthesis) clocked by either an internal clock source (optionally locked to an external reference) or an externally supplied sample clock. In addition, a trigger input for customized sampling control is available to FMC160 users. The FMC160 design is based on Texas Instruments' ADC12D1800 Analog-to-Digital converter and Analog Devices' AD9129 Digital-to-Analog converter.
The FMC161 provides one 12-bit A/D channel at 3.6Gsps or two A/D channels at 1.8Gsps clocked by either an internal clock source (optionally locked to an external reference) or an externally supplied sample clock. In addition, a trigger input for customized sampling control is available to FMC161 users. The FMC161 design is based on Texas Instruments' ADC12D1800 Analog-to-Digital converter. Both the FMC160 and FMC161 come with a high-pin count connector, front panel I/O, and can be used in a conduction cooled environment. The daughter cards are mechanically and electrically compliant to the FMC standard (ANSI/VITA 57.1).
“4DSP continues to lead the embedded computing market with the largest portfolio and the greatest range of functionality and capabilities offered in FMC form factor products and FPGA based boards,” noted Peter Kortekaas, Director of Engineering at 4DSP in Austin. “4DSP’s customers often require the most extreme capabilities possible out of the silicon, thus we focus on boards designed for maximum performance while in parallel providing reference designs and development tools that mitigate risk in the integration and product development cycle.”, he added.
The FMC160 and FMC161 provide the highest performance I/O obtainable and when combined with FPGAs and DSPs offer the best solutions for embedded, demanding real-time applications such as communications, medical, radar, and various military purposes.
