4SIGHT Delivers Distribution Center Optimization for School Health Corporation
Paramus, NJ (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- 4SIGHT Supply Chain Group, a leading supply chain consulting and systems implementation firm, announced today that it has successfully delivered multiple supply chain improvement initiatives for School Health Corporation, the nation's leading provider of health supplies and equipment to schools. School Health has evolved from a specialized distributor of basic supplies to a consultative solutions provider for major health initiatives including vision and hearing screening, emergency response preparedness, infection control, and wellness plans.
In the first quarter of 2014, with increasing customer demand challenging the company’s supply chain, School Health selected 4SIGHT to provide consulting and engineering expertise to analyze and optimize its Hanover Park, IL distribution operations and develop a master strategic plan for future expansion. 4SIGHT analyzed all components of the distribution center including processes, layout, material handling, labor and systems, developed multiple optimization alternatives for School Health’s review, and then engineered the chosen solutions for optimal customer service, productivity, and scalability.
4SIGHT provided a detailed facility layout; developed new procedures and processes resulting from the proposed layout; specified requirements for new material handling equipment; identified design goals to increase productivity, and conducted a high-level distribution network analysis to determine whether School Health should expand its network by adding a fast-moving facility along the Eastern seaboard. Based on the results of the successful completion of the analysis and engineering phase, School Health plans to retain 4SIGHT to provide support for implementing the recommendations.
