54 Kids Share Impact of Local Donations on Ambassador Tour for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) November 12, 2014 -- Children from every state, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico will spend a week sharing how donations to local children’s hospitals changed their lives. These 54 courageous kids are the 2014 Champions of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, a charity that raises funds and awareness for 170 pediatric centers.
This November, Champion Ambassadors will travel to Washington, D.C. and by private charter to Orlando, Fla. via Delta Air Lines to share their inspiring stories with lawmakers, media and leading companies across North America.
On Sunday, Nov. 9, Champions and family members will gather in Washington, D.C. where they’ll meet with local representatives on Capitol Hill and learn more about being children’s health advocates. Champions also traditionally visit the White House where, in previous years, they have met with Presidents and First Ladies Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, Laura Bush and Barack Obama. Accompanying them throughout the trip will be recently crowned Miss America 2015 Kira Kazantsev who is serving as the charity’s National Goodwill Ambassador.
“Every minute, member Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide $6,500 to help save kids’ lives. Our fundraising efforts benefit 10 million kids annually and are continually increasing to aid the urgent charitable need children’s hospitals face,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
“Donations help provide the best quality of pediatric care available. This year’s Champions have benefited from funds that supported a Level 1 trauma center, a pediatric emergency department, aggressive research and vital child life services. As we celebrate and recognize the brave and fighting spirits of our 2014 Champions, we are grateful to have the support of Delta Air Lines, Marriott International, and Chico’s FAS.”
On Wednesday, Nov. 12, Champions and family members will board a chartered Delta Air Lines flight to Orlando, Fla., where they’ll spend the next few days sharing their inspirational stories with corporate and hospital partners as well as with members of the media. Of note, Champions will participate in local satellite TV interviews conducted live from Lake Buena Vista, Fla. on Nov. 14.
“Delta is proud to sponsor and participate in such a meaningful event, not only for the 54 Champions but for their family members and caregivers,” said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of Community Affairs for Delta. “We are inspired and reminded in each of their stories to keep climbing. We look forward to continuing our 17-year partnership and dedication to helping kids.”
The 2014 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals “Champions” program is presented by Delta Air Lines, Marriott International and Chico’s FAS.
